Cloudy Time

In the light of the investigation report that was released last night, which was clearly made to match a pre-set scenario in which, Syria, the only remaining evil, is deeply involved in the assasination of the Lebanese prime minister, Rafik Al-Hariri, at the government level.

Even though the report lacks evidences and is based on stories of anonymous people or people who are known to have a thing against Syria. However, the report is the green light for nailing Syria.

I can only see that we are heading towards a difficult time, eventually, our government will submit to what it’s told to do, but that will happen through a long process or a play, that only the Syrian people would suffer from.

I hope that we can keep the faith during this time and truly hope that our Syria and its people will get over it with the minimum possible damages.

God bless Syria

The Syrian people are definitely the biggest loser, and the least significant part in the whole equation. It’s a war between the States, and the Syrian government and the fuel of it is us. The question that bring itself to me as a Syrian, what should I do? What side should I pick? Should I be the good soldier who abides the rules and take orders?? Or should I being looking for the greater good wherever that is and stick by it?? Or should I stand still and observe?? Unfortunately I don’t have this answer myself for the time being, but I do know one thing for sure it’s time to make a difference and we as Syrian individuals better start taking some major steps and start working on it, better than let any one do our dirty work.

We are past the praying and hoping stage now. The questions that poses itself is: what's next? many concrete decisions will have to be made, and those decision will have to sacrifice someone or something for the sake of other things.
The choices between showing the good will to the international council by saying that we can give you the accused to bring to court, and risk major names in the Syrian governments.. which is the impossible solution as this means a very messy future for everyone....
The other choice is: keep denying, refuse the judgement of the UN and prepare ourself to the Saddam Hussein Scenrario.... (again.. a very messy future for everyone)
The third choice is: play along to gain time, and loosen the grip on the extremist groups in the area, making one big battle ground from Iraq to Palastine, passing through Syria, Lebanon, and most probably Jordan... This choice is Judgement day.. a third world war that will bring America to trigger their nukes, and bring the edge between the west and the east to a wider end.... (in other words.. Judgement day, the final battle, the Holly war,, etc.... something that will make alot of people die...)

so, unless they use the Hafez Assad Tactics in Balancing the threats by offering an alternative, nothing can be done.. The Syrian Government has to play t right this time.. open the old books and see what the father used to do... he had the picture clear in his head.. clearer that the one in everyone else's in this time.....

No more room or time for mistakes. The how way how the government will respond to the accusations in the report and how it will cooperate with further investigations will prove fateful for Syria and the Syrian people. I think the wise thing to do is to bow to international demands, even if this will need certain sacrifices. May Allah bestow wisdom on us all.

By the way, great shot, Ihsan.

Nice picture - very appropriate for the topic.

I am always proud to be Syrian. And even though some people here in the US make comments that Syria is one of the axes of evil, I always say that Syria of all the Arabic countries has had the most outstanding response. Since I don't live there, I don't know many of the intricacies of what really goes on, but internationally, it seems to me, that Syria's response has stayed true to the cause, and has bowed the least to those who are truly evil. I hope there is a way for Syria to get out of this situation with very little or no harm to its people. It would break my heart if Syria and Syrians are exposed to the cruelty that others had to and are now going through.

God bless!

Its definatly not our fault. it is the mistake of our greedy leaders those who guided us in the last 30 to the middle of no where. hopefully Mr Bush will treat them very well how to deal with their people
